Just Curious what ingenious devices people might have come up with to press in/out track pins and bushings.
I have an idea for one, kind of like a log splitter, sort of. Upside down log splitter actually so that the frame rests on the grouser. Then one side will have a little hydraulic cylinder or a hydraulic jack (if it will work horizontal) and a foot of some sort on the other side to support the link.
I think there is a master link somewhere on each track. A pin that is easier to remove than all the rest.
Any ideas?
While you could make a press it would be much easier to just take it to a shop that works on track type tractors.
Tractors before serial No. 16GA566 have a master pin which has lock pins on both ends. Drive the pin out from right to left as viewed from the back of the tractor and with the pin on the drive sprocket.
After 16GA566 there is no master pin and they can be driven either way.
