I acquired a 40D #10758 that ran 2 yrs. ago. Now, it starts hard and will run if you spray diesel fuel into the air intake, but wont run on its own under load. Also, what type of oil does the injector pump require, this one is on the verge of empty.
This is neat. Can you get the model of the pump and governor> Oil wise 20 weight or 30 weight motor oil will work fine. Have you checked the transfer pump pressure and how good are the filters? Do you have any white smoke when it tries to start?
The # cast ojn the pump is85903D. The # stamped on the tag is 85406.
I don't know the Manufacturer, but there is a circle with what appears to be a "H", a "M" and a "c" , cast in the pump housing. There is some seepage around the transfer pump, which may suggest a leak. Are any manuals or kits available on the pump?
Is there a tag on there that mentions who manufactured the pump and the model of the pump? I can not do anything with the numbers you gave me. Also on the surge, have you checked the transfer pressure and changed the filters?
There is an "H", "M" and a "c" all monogramed together in a circle on the pump housing; the tag is illegible.I have not checked the transfer pump pressure, but it does pass fuel back to the tank when I pump it.Is this negative ground? The batteries were out when I got it. I put a Delco starter in it,the rebuild guy said the original one was N.G. The starter works both ways, but the generator is disconected, so I didn't want to fry it when I hooked it up.
Send me a U. S. mail address. I just had a copy of the wiring diagram in my hands about 10 days ago. I will start looking to see if I correctly put it away.
Thanks John, I e-mailed it to you.
