I just picked up an OC-3 but the engine has only 55-60 psi compression on all the cylinders so I figure I need new rings where can I get them? Thanks for any help
NAPA should be able to get rings for you. If not, call Niagara Piston Ring in Corry, PA - they will make rings for anything to order.
Is it possible to do a "Lou's Garage" overhaul (rings, bearings, valves) on an OC3 withinout pulling the engine, or should I just yank it and save more hassles in trying to work around things?
Bill, I wonderes the same thing. Decided to try it. Pulled the pan off, head off. Pulled the pistons uot and now ready to hone and put back together. I got the rings from Zimmerman. Infact I got everything I needed from Zimmerman. I think one thing to watch out for if your not pulling out the crankshaft is when you hone the cylinders try to keep any dirt from the crank bearings and out of the oiling holes in the crank journels. Im in the process of how Im going to do that now. OZZY
DUCT TAPE!!
Can I pull the main caps and roll in new bearing shells?
I should probably pull it down and do it right, but the little dozer only gets used about 20 hrs a year, mostly knocking down weeds and brush.
