Hi guys, Ive been looking at the pictures of OC3's.It looks to me like the oilfilter is next to the air cleaner. In front of the starter and beind the gen. or alt. which ever you have. Well I dont have one on my oc3. Or maybe Idont have an oc3? Maybe its a HG. Whats the story here? OZZY

It should be on the left side of the engine toward the front. It doesn't matter whether you have an HG or OC-3.

Ozzy, Your Tractor may have had the filter removed.
The Hercules engine as used on the OC-3 and HG did not have a pressurized fitering system.
Oil is pumped into the filter but only drains down under gravity and some very moderate pressure as the oil pulses in ( Believe this is refered to as a bleed off system).
So you only get a portion of the oil filterd.
The remainder goes into the pan to be used again.
You may have a block off or bypass plate where the oil filter would normally be mounted.
I have an engine from a Hyster fork lift (IXB-3)in one of my tractors.
It had a Pressurized Filtering system.( I converted to the HG system.)
The oil filter spot on the OC-3 or HG is blocked off, and oil was pumped from the main bearing area (I think) through the engine block to a canister and from there after being filterd into the oil pan.
The point at which the oil pressure gauge is attached was used (by teeing off) and if you look behind the starter there will be a Slotted plug that is a direct shot to the oil pan.
Call Zimmermans and get the parts you need, filter your oil, its cheap inssurance towards helping your tractor last longer.

Hi guys, OK I dont have an oil filter on my eng. George thanks for the info. I'll be getting ahold of Zimmermans in the future to get afilter set up. Crawler BOY Im pretty sure its an oc3. I cant find a ser.# there is a ser. # on the eng. cant read because there is a water tube that comes from the bottom rad. hose up and around the alt back to the water pump. I cant read it with out taking off the hood will get to it one of theses days. Also, this tractor has a ware loader on it there is a ser. # on the loader tag it starts with HG. But Im sure this is just the ser. # for the loader. One other prblem I found is I have a little oil in the antifreeze. Is this signs of abad head gasket or could it be a cracked block? there is no antifreeze in the crankcase ,thats a good sign. And so far since i bought this tractor I havent found many good signs! Ozzy, I try to be informed but I have only a limited knowledge of these kinds of things so I try to pay attention when others are talking.
If you find out different then let me know to, so that we can all learn more.
Serial number; engine, there should be a tag rivited, pinned on the right rear of the engine block.
Machine, there should be a tag on the flywheel housing on the right side of the machine.
Earlier HG';s had them on the frame where it mounted to the transmission.
Oil in the Coolant: you right not good, try to tighten the head down to the spec given in the manual.
Head gasket's arn't a major problem to replace on these machines, there are no moving parts in the head, its flat.
I have reused head gasket's with the intention to "just get it running" and not had a problem, who know's for the future.
My machine's do not get heavy work just for play pretty much.
The Loader, the company is still in business, try waremachineworks.com .
They still are family run and have all the drawings and the manuals, parts list and so on for your loader.
I may have the same one you do.
