Hi all

Hopefully we may all soon have new tracks available, even if they are not an exact reproduction track. They will be based on a halftrack track and fit our machines. If there is enough interest then the company will reproduce the exact track and pads that we require!!!

Hi all

I see there has not been a lot happening on here for a while, but just thought I would post the following link regarding the possible manufacturing of halftrack tracks in the US. The leg work being done here could very easily be adapted to the Cletrac track at very reasonable cost!!!

Here is a picture of the plate that you require, unfortunately I have lost the dimensions of it!

I will be measuring that very same mounting plate in the next week or two if that helps.

Is it the later compressor mounting plate that you need as shown above?? I.E. Ingersoll Rand Model 3321c compressor

Matt I think the plugs I bought for my engine were Champion 1 comm, will check up tommorrow. Seem to remember that they were 22mm threads???

Well here goes some pictures of the completed canopy frame sets!

First a ll six sets of frames.

Well as you can see I have finally managed to pick them up and get some pictures taken.
I think Adrian has done an excellant job.

I'll speak to Adrian and see whether he minds me using his pictures and posting them on here

Just to let you all know I will be picking up all six sets of new canopy frames next Friday. All the required footman loops have been made by hand! Adrian has done an excellant job the sets are identical to the originals in all respects!!

Sorry for the lack of progress reports, been a bit busy at work to do vehicle bits.

Well I have seen the new cannopy frame sets, I have had six sets made. They just need to have footman loops fitted ready for blasting and priming.

I have had a quote to make exact replicas of the footman loops, it would be USD15 per loop, i.e USD30 for the pair needed for the cannopy frames. Basically I need to know whether people would prefer me just to get the holes drilled and they source a footman loop that is near to the originals or whether people would prefer the exact loop???

I will get some photos posted of the new frames in a couple of weeks when they are primed and ready for shipping.

I intend to pick up the canopy frame on Friday and take it over to get a price, so I would guess give it ten days and I should have a costing. I will post it on the forum and if you still want a set will can go from there.

I will  get six sets of poles made, more if anyone else wants them.

I may also be able to get canvas sets made as I have just found someone that has an original set that he may be willing to allow to be copied. This is a complete canvas with side panels, rear and top. This will not however be until after Christmas, again if you think you may want a set let me know.

Still waiting for a price on the windscreen knobs as a friend of mine is dealing with that, he is very very busy so knobs take a low priority!

Hi all

I am currentley having various brackets and parts made for my MG-1 including push pole clamps/brackets, headlight brush guards and other bits.

I know several people in the past have wanted the canopy support frame, I intend to have two sets made for myself, from an original set that someone has kindly allowed me to borrow. If anyone out there also needs a set please let me know in the next four weeks. I realise I am located in the UK but the frame is quite light and would easily ship between two thin sheets of ply.

The canopy support consists of:

two vertical rear supports
two side rails
two canopy two supports

The sets will come with the two footman loops and be primed.

I will have a price in twio weeks for anyone that is interested.

I can get other push pole brackets made if required but these are quite heavy, if you want one let me know.

A friend of mine who owns a complete Cletrac is looking to have the large windscreen lock nut, that holds the windscreen in position re-cast. These will be a perfect match to the originals. Obviously the more that are cast the cheaper they will be. If you are interestted in a pair let me know and we can then get a costing. I am in the UK but postage would not be to bad to the US.

Yeah no worries if I can get up the airfield and cut a section off I will bring it with me. Not sure whether I will be camping onsite for the week or just visiting for a day as we have a twenty month old boy who is hyper!!

The track I will cut up is in poor to OK condition but will certainly be good enough to get started. I also have a good condition broken track but do not really want to shorten it just in case one day i may need it!!

I maybe able to help on an oil filter housing, but it will take time to see whether the guy will part with it.

Hi there

Any chance of posting a few pictures of you cletrac and where did you find it??? I have one rough example and two spare chassis. As is everyone I am also in need of new tracks and pads. I can supply you with a one foot section, no problems. It won't be until after war and peace though. I have several broken tracks.

I can think of several other people who need sets as well.

Thanks for the reply so quickly. Just so I have it clear in my mind the shims are used to ensure correct clearence of  the bearing and as such each journal may have to have different numbers of shims.

I am assuming, as per manual, that I still need to check for bearing wear by removing all shims and inserting a 30 thou shim between the crank and bearing shell and torque up the journal and if I cannot turn it the the shells are OK.

Then as you say us plasti gauge to create correct tolerance. Engine is now in total pieces and pistons and rings are in excellant condition. Will post a few more pictures at the weekend.
