Dave, I like the look of the flat-topped fenders as well.  I've even considered fabricating some out of diamond plate steel, but I've gotten away from that because it makes the machine look a little too industrial, in my opinion.  Shouldn't be that difficult to make your own, and if you have access to a small bending brake, or some sort of fab. machine all the better.  They'll probably need to be of a heavy enough gauge to make them sturdy, and that might be the only roadblock for home fabbing.  Find the steel, and I would think that any fabrication shop could put the bend in.  Shouldn't be that expensive!??  Good luck, Derek.

Thanks for the advice guys!  I actually use the rubber backed lights for utility on the back of my flatbed work truck.  They're indestructible, and are the right size.  Great idea!  I actually bought them at Napa.  Thanks again, Derek.

Hello, I was curious if any of you had any recommendations for some replacement headlights.  I've priced the originals through Landis, and at $120-140 dollars each I can't justify the expense.  I'm still using my machine to work, and if I broke one of these it would be hard for me to swallow.  Any suggestions for an authentic looking replacement would be much appreciated.  Thanks, Derek.

Looks like a fairly complete machine!  Don't be afraid to tackle this project.  I bought an OC3 last year, and knew nothing about working on these machines.  I bought the manuals from Zimmermans, read almost every post on this forum, and asked for advice on this site.  The key is to take your time, and enjoy the process.  The reward is being able to use, and operate your machine.  Mine functions well enough that I've been able to use it in my farming operations this year.  They're very capable, nimble machines that are a blast to operate.  Yours has the added bonus of family history!  Good luck with your project!  Lots of pictures, and updates are always welcome.  Derek.

Like yourself, I've been working on the idea of a 3 point hitch for my OC3.  It would really come in handy for field cultivation, etc...Not only that, it would be a lot of fun to utilize the machine for what it was designed for!  I'm assuming that you've seen the Hydra-Ease pages, in the Photo Album under the attachments section?  That doesn't look to be a difficult design to fabricate, possibly from linkages borrowed from other tractor hitches, and maybe new hydraulic cylinders.  The problem now is finding the time to fabricate.  Might have to wait until next winter.   Good luck, Derek.

Bob, thanks for your generous offer.  Unfortunately I'm in Oregon, and finances don't permit me to travel much this time of year.  Farming, and landscaping aren't horribly lucrative in the winter around here!!  I would really be interested in seeing your machines, especially your A.  That was going to be my next target machine after I got my OC done.  Do you still use yours for some work?  They look like a stout, and able machine for their age.  It sounds like Zimmermans carries many of the parts for this model?  I don't see many for sale out here in the Northwest, but I'm always watching.  Thanks again for all of your help, Derek.

I thought it would be fun to build my own blade setup.  My problem is that this is my first OC, and I haven't seen a blade setup on one of these machines in person.  I've been analyzing pictures, on this site and elsewhere, visually trying to get a design down in my head.  I don't think it would be difficult to maybe find a good blade at a salvage yard, and then build from there.  I'm getting ready to remove an existing Ware loader from my machine, maybe then I'll be able to get a better handle on how to mount to the frame, etc...I might come back looking for a little more insight from the experts!  I appreciate the advice Bob.  Derek

Looking for a ballpark price on an Anderson blade setup.  I'm currently weighing the pros and cons of purchasing a blade versus making my own.  Finances may dictate that I create my own anyway, but I was curious about the Anderson setup.  It looks like a strong, clean design that is pretty popular with OC/Hg owners.  Any insight would be much appreciated!  Thank you in advance.

I just bought my first OC3 and I was curious about winches for these machines.  I tried to get my hands on a back issue of
Oliver Heritage magazine which talked about Carco winches and Cletracs, but by the time I tried to order it they were sold out.  The question I have is did Carco, Gearmatic, or another brand of winch make a specific model for the OC3, or have a particular model which mated well with these machines.  I'm guessing that a PTO driven unit would probably be the best over a hydraulic model?  Any help you guys could offer would be much appreciated.   Thanks, Derek.

I just purchased an OC3 with a Ware loader attachment.  The identification plate on the loader says that it is a Model 3F.  Can anybody give me a little info on this particular loader, or where I might find some.  I was also curious about winches designed for these particular machines.  This is my first Oliver cat, and I'm very excited to learn as much as I can so any information that you could give me would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!
