With scrap prices as high as they are, I'm sorely tempted to unload some of the HG parts I have laying around.

So PLEASE, if anyone's interested, give me a call and take these parts off my hands.

2 sets of tracks
2 sets of track frames with rollers
3 or 4 rear drive sprocket/wheels
1 chassis rail
1 PTO with pully
HG 68 axle shafts, pinions
Trans and rear end parts, gears, bearings
Instrument panel with gauges
Brake/steering levers and linkages.
Miscellaneous other stuff.

NO sheet metal
NO engine parts

Located in central NY state (between Oneonta & Cobleskill just off I-88.

I have a bunch of parts that I have to get rid of. I'd rather they got to someone who can use them rather than sell them for scrap.

-Two sets of tracks, one with flat grousers and one with raised ice tabs.
  Both inpretty good condition.
-Two sets of track supports with rollers
-One PTO with drive shaft
-One? trans and differential with all the other related stuff.
-a couple of pinions
-4? Of the large diameter final drive gears, each with several repaired   broken teeth.
-Differential case
-68" width final drive housings and bearing and covers, etc.
-one chassis rail (forgot which side)

Do NOT have any engine parts or tin.

They are located near Oneotna, NY. You will have to pick up, unless it's small stuff.

For info or pictures, contact me at 607-433-1480 or mailto:wolcott@stny.rr.com">wolcott@stny.rr.com

Let me know if you need any final drive parts for a late'40s (or similar) HG. I've got most of it.

I don't know the corect specs, but if the oil is 2/3 over the shaft, it will lubricate. Can't see asd how it would be a problem.

I don't know. I would recommend you call Landis Zimmerman at 1-717-738-2573 to see if he has a replacement shaft.

John,
Please send the PDF through again. My server jammed up the first time around. I'm on slow dial-up.

Also, any advice on how to do the Word-to-PDF conversion would be great.

Thanks,

I have completed my step by step illustrated instruction write-up for the auxiliary trans project.

I will be happy to email a copy to anyone who wants it.

As of now, it is 22 pages of text and photos in the format of MS Word 97. If you can receive and print Word text, you can use it.

I am in the process of finding out how to convert the MS Word text to PDF format so it can be read by Adobe Acrobat.  I'll let you all know as soon as I accomplish it.

Also, when the PDF is done, I think it can be posted to this board.

I qould be very surprised if it did not fit. Buy it. If it needs some sort of adjustment or modification, take it to you local welder and have him do it.

Auxiliary Transmissions / Bends
September 04, 2006, 02:52:31 PM
No measurements.

Just make the bend as close to the top of the trans as possible. If you do a second upward bend, do it after all is assembled, so you know where you want it.

Auxiliary Transmissions / Bearing carrier
September 04, 2006, 02:49:40 PM
I used the throw-out bearing and bearing carrier (new old parts) purchased from
http://vintagepowerwagons.com
(888-695-0578)

Throw out bearing # CC581499   $25
Carrier/sleeve # CC581500        $10
Pull back spring if you need it # C573318  $5
I used the Model A pull back spring, it's heavier.

I'm just about complete with my effort. Have the illustrated directions almost complete as well. Most of it follows Jon deMarrais' work, but I've rewritten it in a logical order that is easier to follow, etc.

No complaint about Jon's work. He did an incredible job! Just that his write-up is difficult to follow.

I'll be happy to email you what I've got so far. Its an MS Word 97 document. If you can read Word and want it, email me at mailto:wolcott@dmcom.net">wolcott@dmcom.net.

You should be able to see all of the brake components and any problems - just by removing the back cover (or PTO) of the transmission/differential.

Usually an easy fix, unless the case is cracked or broken.
