One of these weekends that I'm not busy studying for exams I"m going to pull it to see if it will move. I dug the tracks out and sprayed all of the visible cleat joints with kroil just in case. When I get it out, I'm going to pull it on this straight stretch and stop every now and then to oil the tracks good. Hopefully after a half mile they will be nice and loose or close to it. Where is the best place to hook a chain to the front? There is an old conestoga (or similar) wagon behind it so it's almost impossible to pull it from behind. If anybody has a youtube, look for some videos about it on there. I always appreciate not just people looking at them but comments as well. My youtube is Reeseholler92 or youtube.com/Reeseholler92  I will keep you guys updated. I got the SN and it is in fact a 68. I did not know that there were numbers before the GA until I got home. What I got was GA912. That doesn't help me narrow down the year but I'll look harder next time. It's a 46 to 48 because of the paint/decals and the SN plate is on the frame. Thanks for the help.

Hello,
New to the forum. I'm around a few others (allis, ATF, red power) and now I"m here. My cousin asked me to come down to his girlfriends house to look at this "tractor" her pap gave to her. I found a HG instead of the Farmall or John Deere that I was expecting. The engine is loose, oil is nice and golden and the gas tank is clean. It's been under a tarp so hasn't gotten much weather other than what's underneath. The tracks are about 4" down in the dirt and the steering levers are very very slow to respond. They pretty much don't come back at all. Other than that, everything looks good on it. I was wondering if it is in fact a 68 and what I might possibly be up against track/transmission wise. If the tracks are stuck, what is the best way to loosen them? I was hoping to pile the penetrant to it before I attempted to move it but if that doesn't do it I wasn't sure what I should do next. I found the SN plate but it was so corroded I couldn't read it. I"m guessing it's a 48 because it has the mag and light switches on the gauge plate. It has belt pulley/PTO as well as a swinging drawbar. Thanks in advance.
