I got it off. I loosened the bolt that hold the bearing at the rear of the housing and everything came out.  Turns out it was more than just the linkage.  I put it all back together and lost the clutch within an hour. One of the bolts that holds the clutch fingers sheared off by the end of the rod where the linkage connects to the yoke.  I think this is due to the wear bolts on that contact the throw out bearing being worn down. Are these things common or just cletrac item?

I have tried that. The housing comes out until the frame narrows in and it won't go any further. Maybe its time for a bigger hammer.

Hello all.  Well the beast managed to survive until the last snow storm of the season. 4km of plowing per storm no falling off the road, thrown tracks or engine problems aside from a steady blue haze.  Anyway, as I was finishing the laneway I pushed the clucth in and it went straight to the floor and did not disengage. I checked it out and the pin that the clutch linkage attaches to inside the bellhousing must have lost the pin or nut that holds it in place and the linkage rod slipped off.  The question I have is, how does one get the bellhousing off with out removing the entire engine?  I tried some orthoscopic surgery with a mirror, magnet, and pliers while upside down but only accomplished a headache.

Apparently my ignition problem wasn't a carb problem either.  Turns out that if you don't pay attention to the cap on the intake it will gradually work its way down and block the pipe.  Explains the carbon, oily plugs and why it seemed to run better with the choke open.

Thanks. I changed the condenser, and the problem is still there.  About 40 minutes of running and the exhaust  starts to get a bit black and it starts missing and then quits.  Spark seems to be there.  I'm thinking my ignition problem maybe a carb problem.  I will definitely be checking Napa for points.  Don't suppose they carry caps for the mag?

Hello all.  The killdozer is having some issues that indicate a bad condenser.  Just wondering if these things are common enough to find at a parts store or if they are more of a special order item?  Also, if one were to remove the Magneto to work on it are there any precautions that should be taken to ensure that the machine will start when it is put back on.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm back in business. At least until I break something else.

I haven't moved it yet, but it turn out it wasn't the line, but the elbow fitting of the small hose going into the pump. I have been doing some research and it looks like these are hard to come by. is there anywhere that would carry such a thing?

So I can drive it home and no harm to the pump? Also, are the hydraulic lines clamped on somewhere I can't see. Both ends are undone but it wont move.

Hey all, back again with another disaster. Actually a product of solving a disaster. I got in an argument last week with 3ft hole full of water while clearing the road. Long story short, I got sucked into the ditch which happened to have water that some how didn't freeze. I wasnt able to get the time time to yank it out until the weekend and it had completely frozen in by then. 7 hours of messing about with a dohatsu dozer, a tractor and 5 friends got it out but we nicked the elbow at the hydraulic pump. My question is does the pump share oil with the transmission or am I safe to drive it back to the house? About a mile.

I think the one I have will survive the winter. The race and bearing are still in good shape. What I am wondering now is whether I should just use silicone insta gasket or make a new paper one.

Ok I found a seal. The price wasn't too crazy, about 35 bucks after shipping and taxes. They couldn't get a match on the bearing number.

Where would one go to get such a seal?

The studs are all out. They actually came out with little fuss. most of them turned out with a punch, the rest needed an easy out. The worst part was the wear plate. Took three of us and 9 beers. The question I have now is, the oil seal on the outside of the hub, is it a common thing or specific to the vehicle?

I was thinking about using a belt wrench and see if that works.
