Go to a business that rebuilds starters and generators - one that has been in business for years and know everything inside out - and ask them about the starter. The shaft on my starter broke several years ago and I had a local place repair it. These are bendix drive starters, but the guy told me that he could get a solenoid drive starter that would fit the OC-12, and that it would actually be better than the original. He said it would be pretty common to get a starter for that application.

Try to get the Delco number off someone who has a starter and then go to some good starter shops and see if they can get you something to fit.
