BGSH with missing button fitting

I have a model 12C128 I'm restoring. It seems to be missing a button fitting on the lower right track wheel (second from rear).  The face is flat with a tapered dimple in it (not a channel).  It doesn't look like it ever had a fitting.  Should I install one or let it go?
