I've been working on my EN. New mag and wires, plugs on their way. Put a Pierce governor on it, replacing the junk Hercules cast style. Had to make new throttle linkages because they were all cobbled and missing. Removed fuel pump because it leaked into the crankcase. Rebuilt carb. Changed oil. Went to clean or replace the oil filter and there is no oil filter or housing, nor was there ever a place for one. Any ideas??? As far as I know it is the original engine. I was gonna post the serial number of the tractor and engine, but didn't I forget!

Should be able to have the beast buttoned back up tomorrow. Going to try to adjust the tracks. Hopefully all goes well with that. I've never adjusted the tracks on an "E" before...

Also, I know I've brought this up before, but here it goes again. This EN has an electric start on the rear. It goes on where the PTO would. I'm 99% sure it is Cletrac parts. It has casting marks on it I have seen on other Cletrac parts. I've never heard of or seen any books on them. It works very nice.

I think my E has the old style governor. It works pretty good.

I had to crank her up today to tow a dead lamb back to the woods for burial. With our pastures and fields just soaking with water, I had nothing else that would do it without getting stuck or leaving huge ruts.

My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors. There was nothing inside my governor left to work!
