Hello all.

Would like to obtain a photo of this tractor. In 1948 whilst working as a serviceman with Britstand Distributors I worked on this model many times. Unfortunately I have not retained photographs of it. It is a very old model but can anyone help please. I have searched the forum without success.

Regards

Bob

Links to a couple pics. The second one is mine.

If you would like more, just let me know. I've been meaning to post more in the gallery, but haven't had the time... I will have more action pics this spring, if it ever comes...

Thanks for the response Bob.

When was your photo taken? The hydraulic operated dozer suggests much later than 1948/9.
Is the first photo available for purchase?

My FDE is a 1945. It was taken a couple years ago. The other machine is newer I believe. The air assist steering suggests that. Hydraulic and cable lift machines were made at the same times, it was just owner's prefrence.

I am unsure about purchasing the pic. Blake the administrator would be the one to ask. I'm sure he will comment.

Hi Kenneth.

Regarding the photos. When someone submits a photo to the Cletrac.org site, they give me the right to display it on the site, but each photo still belongs to its respective owner. So I can't give permission to use any of the photos, unless they are owned by myself. Most folks usually do not mind if you download their photo for personal use, however, it is always best to contact them first.

My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors.
