1949 cletrac ag-6 cant get into any gear

Ok quick run down, bought it knowing motor was locked , i have motor running now (few bugs to work out )but starts rite up 30 psi of oil pressure so moved on down . Here is where i need help it wont shift into any gears (running or not ). Also it rolls backwards Easily but is a bear to pull forward. I was hoping i could move it and try to shift but no luck . Any ideas before i open it up .  Clutch works tracks are free also .

At the risk of giving a stupid suggestion, it's not full of ice is it?
That is often the case up here by the NY/Ontario border. If the differential and bull gears have blocks of ice on them, and the gears are frozen in too, the shifter won't work and the machine won't move too easily or with difficulty.
Can do a lot of damage trying to force it.The OC-6 we are working on had exactly this happen last week, so we left it well alone.

Thanks for suggestion, but not as cold here but water was a issue it was way full from sitting so long , i drained it and now is soaking in used oil and kerosene mix to free it up . So far i have 1&2 working now . Hope rest is ok . Im excited to drive it soon .
