I'm researching a Cletrac Model K serial # 15235. Where can I go to find service and parts manuals, year of make, color etc.

Thanks,
Curtis

Are these models one and the same? I ordered a parts /service manual from Zimmermans for a "Cletrac Model K" and was sent a manual for a "Model K-20"...?

In the section of the manual that Oliver dealers were given when Oliver took over Cletrac in World War two it is listed as a "20-K"
However the serial numbers start at 101 and end at10207 on that list. It was probably an all grey crawler. How far are you from Lodi?

I forgot years manufactured are listed as 1925-1932. Engine is listed as a Cletrac with 4 inch bore and 5-1/2 inch stroke.

As far as I know, the K-20 and 20-K are the same. I don't know why, but it is common to call them either. I know of no other Cletrac like that.

The K-20 used a Weidley overhead valve engine, though some sources say it's a Cletrac engine. Some of these engines were actually made in the Cleveland plant.

I was putting my book away and I noticed one thing and I think this came up on the site once before. The number you gave is the engine number . Engine numbers for this model start at 6520 and go 19864. You might want to give Bill  Bechtold a call He is in the Lodi area used to work for a Cletrac dealer and does some Cletrac restoring. According to the information I received his phone number is 209 333 1970. Hope this helps

The motor in the K-20 is the same as the later W's  A Cletrac made motor.  The Weidley motor is different, The head is slightly taller, takes a different head gasket, push ros are longer etc.  Good Luck Spark

Thanks for the tips. I will make the calls. The little K has been sitting in a barn collecting dust since I aquired her in 1982. I put her where she is under her own power. I have two 1934 Farmalls to finish and then I'm gonna blow the dust off the "K" and get with it. I feel a lot better knowing there are Cletrac crazy's out there with advice. Thanks

Albert, I don't know all the details of these overhead valve engines, but I recall the Cletrac-made engines were licensed from Weidley. Not sure what year they started making them in the plant. I know the F used the left over engines from the Rollan Motor Car, the failed automobile venture of Rollan White. Some had heads with the iron missing around one of the stud holes.

Weidley went out of business when Cletrac started making the motors and I don't know much about the company other than they were fron Indiana.  The Rollin car motor and the Cletrac F motor are different and they take a different head gasket, same bore and stroke, but different cooling.  I found a lot of engine info when I was looking for info on the Buda R that is in my R Cleveland.  Spark

Albert, when they quit making the Rollin motor car they had many engines left over. They started building the model F Cletrac to use up the engines. Perhaps later in F production they changed the engine somewhat.

Cletrac F's 1920 - 1922; Rollin Cars were built 1923 -25 and the Head Gasket catalogs of that time period list two completely different head gaskets.  I will look for my information on this subject and send you a copy.  Landis went to the museum in Cleveland and looked at the car and engine.  The bore and stroke were the same but at that time Landis thought the engine looked differently.  I will ask him about it also.  Spark

Well someone has their wires crossed on this subject. I'll have to listen to my tapes again for the details. This information came from a friend of mine who worked in Experimental starting in 1918. I believe he said the Rollin car was designed by Jim Heaslet and Rollin White. He describes how the car came to be and its demise.

Could the original "General" (not the GG) have used the same engine as the Rollin? It had a 4 cylinder with 3.5 x 5.25 bore and stroke?
