no spark on E

Well I cleaned and gapped the points and tryed to hook up a push/ pull on/off switch(dont know if I did it right) Didnt think there would be much to it.
One wire from switch I attached to the distributor and the other wire from switch
I grounded. I hand cranked eng over but no spark I tried the the switch both on and off to see if I would get spark but nothing. have new wires and plugs. I also tried it wothout the wire hooked to distributor still nothing. Any1 have any suggestions for me. The magneto kill thingy (Square piece inside distributor cap behind protruding small nut n bolt that I had wire on)pivots about 3/.16 of inch from left to right could it be in wrong place? Woulds that be touching as to not get spark. Hope you mechanics can help.

Problem solved!!!!! Yahoo!

About an hour after posting this I decided it did not have the best of me yet. I grabbed my handy dandy headlight straped it on and out I went into the darkness.I pulled off the distributor and rethought everything that I did previously I rechecked the gap and went to pull out points/ condenser as I was gunna just get another set I noticed that I forgot to tighten (besides finger tight) the condenser wire. So there lay the problem.
For those of you lucky enough to get things right the first time my hat goes off to ya. (when I'm wearing one) But for me...I take some heavy duty pain meds (oxycontin) and it messes with your head.
So I hardly ever plan on it going right first time....second or third maybe. Well Thanks guys. Im Still looking for a manifold
doesnt have to say cletrack on it I just want one to make functional. I have redone the center of my manifold with jb weld but the 2 outer sides are shot 5 inches up the pipe Ill be stuffing them with those long ballons and the covering them up with jb weld. I really dont think it will hold the heat (I almost down right know it wont) but I just want to hear her run. So once I get her going Ill shut her down b4 it gets to hot. My manifold doesnt say cletrack on it what other manifold could it be? Still wondering what those 2  outer ports are?What do you think?  Here is a diagram of what I'm asking    ---->o o o o o o<---
If they are exaust maybe I can weld a couple elbows up and out the sides so not to ruin hood. After eng is running Ill get the wheel I need from Zimmermans and whatever else I find And go to town greasing it up. Im glad today was not a waste.
