I NEED SOME HELP OUT THERE I HAVE A CHANCE TO BUY A CLEATRAC CRAWLER MODEL AG SERIAL 2X2834,OWNED BY THE ORIGINAL FAMILY WHO BOUGHT IT NEW,BEEN INSIDE ALL THE TIME,SHEET METAL IS GOOD FENDERS TOOK MOST OF THE BEATING,ONLY THING IT EVER DID WAS PULL LOGS INTO THE SAW MILL,IS THERE ANY THING MAJOR ON IT THAT I SHOULD LOOK FOR THAT COULD BE A MAJOR FIX I HAVE NEVER OWNED A CRAWLER BEFORE WHAT WOULD ONE BE WORTH,THEY HAD IR RUNNING 4 YEARS AGO,MOTOR IS NOT STUCK,MOTOR WAS NEVER OUT OF THE CRAWLER OR TAKEN APART I WOULD LIKE SOME HELP ON THE VALUE OF IT IF ANY ONE COULD HELP ME THANKS DAVID

The main things that cost a lot if they go wrong is the engine and the running gear.  If the tracks are good thats worth a lot.  Unlike tractor with clutch and brake steering there is very little to go wrong with a cletracs controlled differential steering.  Almost all parts are availible from Zimmermans.  I'm affraid I can't help you with value, but if the tracks are worn out completely its not worth much more than its weight in scrap. I live in England, got interested in Cletrac's when I brought an Oliver BD in 2001, I now have an Oliver BD a Cletrac BDH and another BDH for parts and have just brought a 1919 model H. I also have a british built Track Marshall 90.  Always keen to hear from fellow collectors.

My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors. Please help Support This Site and give your business exposure by buying a business card sized ad.

Where you are located will have something to do with the value, as well as the mechanical condition of the tractor.   It appears from the Serial number that you have a 1941.  Fenders and most parts are available.  Likely it has a Hercules 4 cylinder engine if it is original.  They are not difficult to work on.  You've come to a good place to ask questions, and get advice.  Good Luck!
