I have never owned a crawler and don't know to much about them. But I have found a 61 Oliver OC6 for sale, it used to be a used by Mississippi state in the foresty commission.  The guy who has it now rebuilt the motor about 15 years ago and cranked it, then parked it in his basement since then.  He said the bottom rollers need to be replaced and the hydraulics need to be reconnected.  Everything it there to put it back together.  How much would this crawler be worth and how much would it be to have the rollers rebuilt?  And did the OC6 come with a three point hitch? He has tools and stuff pilled 2 feet high on it and its backed in a corner so i can't see the back of it.

some oc6 crawlers did come with 3 point hitches.the production of these tractors was stopped in 1960.if the undercarriage is worn out the value of the tractor is greatly decreased. track roller kits are under $100 each ,there are 8 rollers so you would start out with a parts bill of close to $ 800 ,if the front idlers are in the same shape add a couple hundred more for parts.if the tractor is complete with a factory three point ,it should still be worth $1500 - $2000

Crawler prices are going through the roof! Every collector of rubber tire tractors is now looking to get some type of crawler.
Be very leary of sellers that tell you that they rebuilt the crawler. A lot of them think that a coat of paint or replacing rings or bearings is a complete rebuild job.
If you don't have a lot of mechcanical skills and a lot of heavy duty tools and lifting equipment then a crawler might just turn out to be your worst nightmare!!!
I bought my OC6 for $300. But I knew that I had to replace the engine, 4 lower rollers, main springs and a few other costly items.  A mans got to know his limitations. Also how much he can aford to spend on restoration of a crawler before he buys it.

Is this OC-6 a gas or Diesel tractor? The later OC-6 gas models had the Super 77 engine instead of the Fleetline 77 engines. This can be checked by seeing if there is one fan belt or if it has a seperate short belt that drives the generator from the water pump. All the Diesel models are the small engines. Also there are different widths of these crawlers. If you plan on using it they do have a live PTO if it has a PTO. I have had 2 OC-6 owners e-mail me that had tractors with hydraulics and no PTO which I felt was a little unusual. John
