I have a Cletrac F with an American Bosch AT4 magneto on it but it only works when it is terned backwards. Is this the wrong magneto or a problem with the magneto its self?

You should be able to tell which way the mag is supposed to turn by whether the impulse works or not. It should not work backwards. Sounds like it's probably the wrong magneto. The original mag was an Eisman. Good luck.

Hi Blake,
Thanks for the advice.
We now have our cletrac runind nicely.
The timing was out on the magie but rite when it was terned backwards.
There is no impulse starter on it so you hafto crank it nice and fast.
