oc12 (tracks?)

greetings from alaska,   i have been given a set of cat D-2 tracks and would like to replace the (street?) tracks or the pads on the oliver will these fit? are the chains/pads the same size? the two are about 70 miles apart where do i measure to check? is there a cross referance  that i might find    once again all my thanks for the great site and help        jeff

Oliver made their own tracks and most did not match anything else. Oliver tracks were usually wider than those of similar sized machines. The two things you need to  check are the pitch and width of the track chains.  The pitch is the center to center distance of the pins in the track, that has to match the tooth spacing of the drive sprocket.  The width has to be correct to ride properly on the rollers and front idler. The OC 12 has a pitch of 6.6" the width you will have to measure. The following machines use a pitch of 6.75" and might work, Cat D4,D6 Cat excavators 215,E110B,and E120B These have a pitch of 6.5" TD8,TD9 and AC HD5 and HD6. These have a pitch of 6.7" JD 490 and 690 excavators and case 1150B dozer. Hope that helps some!

Robert thanks for the info. was most informative. the D-2 tracks were free so they will come in real handy come tradeing time. I'll just have to keep my eyes open. will any other model oliver pads fit? the pins in these ( chains) are in great shape havent been turned yet  thanks again for shareing your knowlage    jeff

B tracks should fit on an OC-12. As far as the grouser pads, they have a staggered bolt pattern so I don't know what else will fit. Get some barstock and weld on the leading grouser bar on your tracks.

My OC-12 also has loader tracks with 3 low bars and I am going to weld a bar on the leading edge.

Blake,  that was what a buddy of mine sugjested  but " I thought " if I was going to go to that end there might be a set of regular grouser pads . thats what a guy gets for thinking. time to break out the singer and rods        thanks ,     Jeff

I have a set of good grousers on worn out rails, but I think it's still easier to weld new bars onto the tracks I have.
