I recently found a Cletrac model AG, I am interested in buying. The owner said he would sell it, and for me to make an offer on it. My question is how much should I offer him? Everything is intacted and it ran about ten years ago until the guy put it away. The engine is not stuck and turns over, the undercarriage is about 75%to 80%,and the paint is only fair. The only problem is the exhaust manifold has a piece broken out of it and had been welded at one time. All the sheet metal is straight with no dents, but the side louvered curtians are missing. My question is how much is this machine worth in this condition? How many were built? And, how much should I offer for it? Thanks for the help!

Is this a 4 cylinder (model AG) or a six cylinder model AG-6

It is a 4-cylinder Model AG.

The aG was last made in 1942 with the 4 cylinder. The first ones were made in 1936 I think. I think 1938 or 39 is when they "streamlined" them. There should be a serial number tag if it is streamlined on the engine side of the fire wall on the manifold (right side setting on seat). I had two people price meAG-6 models with blades for 1500 each. Also an AG-6 not running  and clutch out for 400. The OOC Hercules is used in the four cylinder.

I looked at a running AG-6 with a blade, but without side curtains, decent paint and undercarriage, mostly good sheet metal about 5 years ago (similar to the one in my photo) for under $1400.  I'd recommend the 6 cylinder.

If you want to do what you want to do, you have to do what you have to do.

I looked at a 1942 i think. AG 6 it had a 6 cyl. gas came from California , no side curtins no dozer blade run,s looked to be in good condition just needs paint location is in southern Neb. the old guy wanted 3200$ for it he said he had to have a new engine put in his tow truck on his way back he said he had to get that much for it to pay for the engine  I said if I pay that much for it I want the new engine out of your tow truck He said get off my property......we didnt deal so i think  1200......1600  is some where in the ballpark if you dont have to buy a tow truck engine good luck H H
