engine removal

ok heres a newbie question   lol
i am going to take out the engine in my bg this weekend and put in the one i just got from zimmerman.
question is do i need to take anything apart dealing with the clutch prior to unbolting ?  or is it like my ford 460 that i have removed from my f350 numerous times just unbolting and removing ???  need answers asap please gonna do it on sunday...     thanks

If I'm not mistaken you can just pull it out like your truck. Hood, rad. 2 bolts in front mount, and about ten bolts on the bell and it should come right out.

Let us know how it went.  As the other post mentioned, pull the hood, radiator, 2 bolts in front mount, and about ten bolts on the bell housing, and it will slide out forward.   Been a few years since I did mine, and it was my first.  I had no problems.

ok finally got the motor in. it was easy. now i am putting all of the parts back on it. i found that the case on the hydro pump got cracked over the winter so i got that fixed. i took the generator off of the new motor and now i need to find the right way to hook up the wiring to an alternator. any info on the subject of wiring this baby will be appreciated.... :D

Tell us what model and who the manufacture of the alternator is. Also the amperage may be important to know as well. You will need a hevier wire between the ammeter and the alternator B terminal.
