Moving my EG

I am getting ready to move my EG out of the woods after sitting there for over 25 years. Will I hurt anything by dragging it out and on to my trailer? I have been spraying the tracks with pb baster over the passed few months to try to losen some of the rust. Is it likely I will throw a track by dragging it? I would like to move it with minimal damage. Any ideas?

I usually just hook onto them with a big enough tractor or winch. That way you don't have to yank on it you just pull. I have moved a bunch of them that have been sitting for a long time with no trouble.

I got a set of A tracks one time that were new, rolled up, laying outside for 20yrs. ended up picking them up with the log truck as high as I could and dropping them to straighten them out and free them up a little.

Today I got an AG6 parts tractor. I dragged it out with the log truck, picked it up and unloaded it at home with no trouble.

In my opinion the old tractors are pretty durable and unless you do something pretty dumb there isn't anything to hurt.

It always helps to have someone to help too.

Oh, by the way you shouldn't have a problem with the tracks. just go slow and watch going thru dips and turning. If you do have trouble pull it backwards. Tracks stay on better going backwards.

Thanks Bob. I'll give it a try and take it slow. Should be making the move in the next couple of weeks. I'm going the try a straight line pull with a good size john deere backhoe but first have to cut down some trees that are in the way. I guess those trees were saplings when the PO parked it there 25 years ago.
