Went out to a junkyard full of crawlers N of Spokane, hoping to find a pan seat and spring for the project.  All they had was tattered upholstered junkers in a pile,  but.....wait......

Two  HG/ OC-3?'s   sitting way back at the fence.  None of this stuff seems to have run in years.   These two were close to complete.  The OC  had a nice little Weldco blade.  He wanted 75 bucks for the pan seat and spring.    I declined.   I asked him, just for drill,   "what kind of money you talking for the whole tractor?"

THIRTY FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!!

My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors. Yeah, out west here Oliver crawler parts go for more money than they do in the east. Not unusual to see good seat springs go for $50.00 and about the same for a good condition seat. The 3500.00 for the whole scraped tractor is a bit criminal.

By the way, Do you have an address or name of the yard there in Spokane? I'm out that way a couple times a year to visit family. Might be a great way to waste some time.

BOY   it's been awhile since I was out there.   (Posted in 2009)  I actually had to "fly"  a little in Google maps  to find what I thought was it

Norcan Parts & Equipment - 9423 N Market St Spokane, WA, 99217

If the map link works,  the cletrac(s)  was in that last line out on the NE  end of everything

Better picture from  Bing Maps,  best I can do,  "Birds eye"  doesn't work in that area  My recollection is that there  was  two or three Olivers  up in the far  upper right of this shot.

Wow, Somehow I missed your reply. I'm just now finding this. Thanks for posting. This place is only a couple miles from my sons place. It'll give me an excuse to escape next time I'm in town.  ;D
