The type-written salesman's memo I have calls the Ware 3-WI loader "tool number one" for the OC-3. The only changes since inception have been:
1. Change control valve from vicinity of clutch housing (I have only ever seen two of these) to sit on top of the hydraulic tank.
2. At the same time move tank from left side to the right side of the loader frame.
This was done to ease clutch replacement, allow space for a Trasco under-drive unit and allow room for additional valve sections, if required.
They go on to spend a lot of time making dealers aware that the competitive Terratrac 300 is inferior in that its loader is too front heavy and will not dig more than an inch below track level.
Another note of interest is that Oliver sold some Ateco loaders on OC-3s in certain markets, same as that fitted to JD40C. Anyone ever seen or heard of an Ateco loader on an OC-3?

I have an Ateco loader on an OC-3... I also have a 3WI with the hyd valve inside,,, I might even have 2 like that. I have seen plenty of them over the years with the inside valve,, maybe the early model?

Have one of the aetco loaders (my case it's greenville foundry works). It also has a ripper that's' controlled by rollback  of the bucket. The hydraulic tank is built  underneath the crawled. The control valve is hidden and the control levers  are right in front of you. Convenient. Also it a solid frame unlike the springs on the Ware unit. Mine is put on one of the earliest oc's (#36).
