I have a question about the W model. Today while takeing some part apart i found a maron color under the gaskets so i assume it came from the factory that color. Blake what do you have to say

Just a guess, but it could be red lead paint.

My gramps started working for Cletrac painting the bottom of tractors with red lead paint and a brush. Worked his way up to Experimental Engineer.
My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors. No i don't think this is a primer it has a gloss to it. Color is to far off to be red lead primer. I have also found spots of this color on the front idlers and track frames. Sanded through it and think there is a primer
