Any way to find out year besides serial number on firewall.I

This may be worth a look and may apply to many cletrac models. on my dd and ddh cletracs the casting date is cast into the bottom face of the gearbox housing, just under the clutch compartment. to look at it just slide under the crawler with a wire brush, and just behind the joint between the bellhousing and the gearbox housing there may be some numbers cast into the housing. clean it up and have a look. that way i found out that my dd cletrac was cast in 1941 and one of the ddh's was cast in 1943 and i think another in 1947. hope this may help, regards pete de vries

sorry misrepresented tractor didnt measure center to center measured outside track to outside track so my tractor is a e 62.

Looking at my serial number guide the E was only made from 1939 -1941, but there are ED2 62's, EG 62's, EHD2 62's and EHG 62's.  With cletracs the E would be the model, as you know, the D usualy stand for a Diesel engine, and G for Gasoline. The H usualy denotes Hillside (wide guage) and I don't know what the 2 is for.  But it does not make sense to have a hillside when they sell it in different guages anyway! I'm affraid I'm not very familiar with the E so don't know what variants there were.  I was told it was a lighter duty version of the A specificaly for agriculture only, but I've only ever noticed Gasoline model in my literature. Thanks for that info Sam it is of use to me.
Ill have to take some measurements on clearence to see if I have the High Clearence model.
