I have a FRAM C157 oil filter mounted to my OC-3, is this a good choice? I have read the oil filter report but I donÃ,´t understand why they still are in business if their filters are that bad.
Does anybody have the correct # for a equivelant MANN filter?
Here it is!

Personally there are so many documented cases of problems caused by FRAM filters that I would not use them. See Cummins cooling nozzels plugged for instance.

After reading and researching oil filters, my personal choice is Fleetguard - they are owned by Cummins. I could not find the OC-3 listed in their application guide, but you should be able to cross it from your FRAM.

NAPA and WIX filters are also good.

LF592 is the Fleetguard filter that should fit. See http://www.fleetguard.com/en/catalog/catalog_popup.jhtml?_requestid=3612769

Note - in my previous post, "Fleetguard" and "Cummins cooling nozzels plugged" are links. Even though they don't look like it.

George,
The Wix 51102 is the correct filter. I always used those up untill recently when I went to buy one, and the parts store guy told me the 51102 had been superceded by the 51105. I would be interested to hear if your parts store guy says different. the 51105 is slightly larger, but seems to work fine.

FYI: Wix also supplies the Napa filters which are the same number except delete the first 5.Wix also has a 1-800 number that can be obtained from your supplier. They also make the same filter for other auto parts companies too.
