I thought I'd send a couple photos of the HG as I got closer to completion.

I ran the engine for the first time today!  The rebuilt engine took a little bit of fiddling to get going, but after some magneto ajustments fired up and ran just fine.  I found some minor problems....water leaking at the repair to the thermostat housing and some hydraulic lines needed tightening.  The chain guard for the reducer was rubbing and had to be moved a little.  Other than that, it's coming along.

I painted the seat and gas tank tonight, and just have wiring, fender and hood work to do.  The grille is primed and ready to paint.

The photo below shows my solution to the gage mounting.  I need to find a shorter key switch.....I have the one that came off it, but it must have grown while waiting since it hits the bell housing now.  The Ford starter solenoid is mounted to the side of the engine.

I'll post some more photos as I go.

Mike it does look good!. Harvey, Consider high pressure pipe fittings or better yet use hydraulic tube abd flare it for JIC flare less chance of leakage, something none of us want. I have a table of what flow is acceptable with what size hose if anyone is interested.

Mike---that looks really great.  The gage solution is super.
You are going to have everyone at the shows gathered around talking about how they never saw one like that and convinced it came from the factory;);)

The dozer uses two sizes of hose.  One half inch from the valve to the lifting cylinder pipe manifold that goes under the gas tank, then 3/8" from the manifold to each cylinder.  There was also an orifice inside the fitting in the manifold.....I guess it's there to slow down the action a little.

The tilt cylinder uses 3/8  hose all the way.  They are extra long to accomodate an inserted weldment that allows the blade to be put at a fixed angle.  I got the insert from Zimmerman's a few years back, I didn't even know it existed until he told me.  It did need to be modified by cutting the tube down where it fits the tilt mechanism.  I suspect it was built for a blade that didn't have the tilt option.

It's getting closer to completion.  I put the gas tank and seat on tonight along with the tool box from Zimmerman.  It was made out of much lighter steel than the originals I've seen, but looks ok, I suppose.

It's looking awful pretty.......sure will be a shame to get dirty the first time!  I was out eyeing it's first project today, a little water flow diverting off the hill through the yard.  It finally rained this past weekend.  We're suffering through a major drought here in San Diego County for the last three years, and I'm hoping for a lot more water.

I'll keep the photos coming as it progresses.

Mike that is a neet manifold setup i was wondering how to do mine now i know. is it made out of 1/2"or 3/4"pipe? the pictures sure gives a good view of things i like the gage setup too i had it in mind to do the same.but put the fourth gage on it a hour meter. it will fit same size 2"i found one at O Rileys auto parts store here in Ks about 30.00 but was 12 volts they can get me a 6 volt for 60.00 sorta  exp.they are black faced i know it,s not orignal i think it would be nice to have. thanks Harvey
