Hi All
I was hoping to draw on the knowledge of the board members here, thanks in advance.

I have borrowed my fathers mini-dozer to do quite a bit of dirt moving around for my workshop, in construction in the back yard. This involved hauling it 1100 miles from my fathers place, but that's OK, I was coming this way anyhow. In the last little bit of dirt pushing on Saturday it went click, and no more drive.

Took it apart tonight, and the right halfshaft is broken at the outboard end near the reduction gear. It was a fatigue failure; it had been coming for a while.

We believe it to be an Oliver OC-3 from the early 50's, other than that I know very little about it. As is normal in our family it is significantly modified, with Dad having adapted into it an 85 horse (or so) Toyota Land Cruiser diesel, which does work amazingly well, and probably contributed to the axle problem.

So now I have to take it back to my Dad, but I really should fix it first!

I was hoping I could find someone with some parts, and some help in identifying the axle. It is 22" total length, and at some point has been welded together, but I think that may have been factory. There is a bearing sleeve that was installed before the weld. Were these like this from the factory?

Is there anyone in the southern Ontario area (actually, or anywhere) with parts for these things, or where might I find parts? Are there manuals available?

Thanks greatly in advance.
Ken
