:?: Do members here have intrest in smaller multi-cylinder engines that Hercules built and if so, what forum should it be placed in?

It seems to me that these engines have taken a back seat to the stationary engines.  There is a lot of history with the Hercules company written; but it seems to stop when it comes to multi-cylinder engines. The same would hold true with Continental, Kohler, and others!

The Hercules Engine company that made hit and miss engines is different than the Hercules Motor Company of Canton, Ohio that made engines for Cletrac and others. I don't think there is any relationship.
My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors. You are right ,thay are not related! I seen that in there history book.

Looking a bit closer in the book it says that the "Hercules Gas Engine Co." was only 1 of many compaines that made up the "Hercules corp." There was another Company thay managed call the "Hercules Tractor Co", Hum! I wonder what kind of Tractor Co thay were.  Thay were also part of the "Hercules Corp.". I wonder if thay went belly up when the gas engine co did. In 1933 I would think tractors would be in demand. Intresting! :D
