Oc3 and a ware loader

Hello I am looking for a ware loader for and oc3.  I currently have one that I believe has the Anderson blade with one cylinder ((looks a bit like a Rhinosaurus)  I would like to put a loader on it.   Unless anyone has ideas about a conversion, but I don't believe it would lift high enough to dump.  Thanks for your help.

I have a Ware 3-HI loader with the optional under-side push-frame and dozer blade (best of both worlds), if you are interested.  The loader with bucket came with an OC-3 I bought a while back.  I bought the lower push frame and dozer blade for this model loader from Zimmerman a year or so later.  I never got the chance to mount any of it on the crawler.  I started rebuilding this OC-3 from the ground up and came across a 3-WI loader that I am am going to mount instead.  I opted for this since I picked up an OC-3 with an Anderson blade a few years ago and already have that as a dozer machine.  I'm in Pine Bush, NY (12566) if interested.  EMail me at mailto:nick@pinelinedfarms.com">nick@pinelinedfarms.com if you want to discuss further.

Any chance you can post photo's showing the differnce between the 3-HI and 3-WI loaders? I'm also intersted to learn more about the blade option you mentiond. I'm restoring a 1947 HG-R that was converted to metal tracks and would like to purchase a loader and or blade for it someday.

I will try and dig up some pictures that I have from the past.  I sold the HG loader and optional push-arms and blade that went with it (3-HI), but I have photos of it on file.  The main difference between the 3-HI and the 3-WI is that the latter is much stonger and supported.  It has tubular lift arms as opposed to flat bar arms and the side frames are made from solid steel triangle pieces as opposed to open frame supports.

Nice photos!
Could your Ware 3-WI be mounted onto an HG or only on Industrial model OC-3s?
To me it seems like a safer/stronger option for an HG than a front-mounted push-blade where all the weight is hanging up-front, which in time could cause frame failure.
Is the Ware 3-WI front PTO driven?

It could be mounted on an HG, but I would recommend the use of the solid idler wheels up front and the heavier main springs on the OC-3.  They can be swapped out on the HG (I believe).  The newer style frames on the later OC-3's help quite a bit, but it will mount to the HG frame as well (the same frame with slight modifications).

The hyraulic pump is front mounted and driven off of the front engine pulley shaft.

with regard to loaders and HGs - they, if that would fit one, would benefit from an auxiliary gearbox to lower ground speed.  I would think dangerous and not a great deal of use at HG agri speeds otherwise.

Hi I bought the loader and blade from Nick.   I did get the loader on the HG.  It has good lifting power, but if the loader needs a lot of reinforcement.  I can possibly supply pics of it and of the pushblade.  I haven't tried it yet because a I have and Hg 68 with two transmissions and a nice pushblade.   My opinion is unless you are going to add a trans  to your machine tring to push much with a single trans will be a bit tough and very hard on your clutch.

I have a copy of a 3-WI brochure and it says it can lift 2000lbs. and that the complete unit (+OC-3) weighs 6190 lbs.
Any idea what those two figures would be for the 3-HI?

Also, was the 3-HI an older model or a cheaper model available at the same time as the 3-WI?

I'm pretty sure that the 3-HI loader was out well before the 3-WI model.  The 3-HI model superceded the HGH model (both the HGH and 3-HI models were made for the HG but probably made their way onto the early OC-3's).  Landis Zimmerman would most likely know the exact dates of these models if you want the details.  Ray & Harold are also quite knowledgable with the HG and OC-3's as well.
