Do you have to take the whole front end off this model to replace the fan belt?? and does anyone have a replacement # for the belt?..also am missing the gas cap for this crawler ..would anyone one have one to sell?..This is a great little crawler!

You should be able to loosen the adjustments up and slip the belt off and over the fan. I do have a part number. I will get it tomorrow. I also should have a decent fuel cap.

Thanks Bob....I thought I could do that as well but the shaft from the pump seems to be in the way of that (front has a blade attachment) Thanks for your help on this topic...

Bob ..did you find the number for the fan belt and were you able to locate the gas cap you thought you might have?

If you have a crankshaft driven pump it will need to be slid ahead so the shaft slide to let the fan belt pass through.

Napa number 25-28473 is the number I used. Could have been an inch longer and wouldn't have hurt. Sorry I didn't get back sooner.

If you're still looking for belt info, FWIW a 1950 Gates catalog shows:
AD...37-50..Herc DOOC Mtr...OE# 92681...Gates 8530TR
..................Fan and Gen...OE# 92768...Gates 66TG
Those old numbers may've been superceded, so dimensions are shown as:
8530TR...49 x 15/16 top width x 44 degrees
66TG.....50 x 29/32 x 42 degrees. The Gates has no cross index.
To confuse (??) matters, a 69 Dayco shows:
AD...Herc DOOC Ser # 1Z000 to 2Z609...OE# 92681...Dayco 834
....................After Ser # 2Z610.......OE# 92768...Dayco 97.
The Dayco has no size chart, but the cross-index shows Gates 66TG as Dayco 803M (!!), and doesn't list any Gates 8530TR (!!).

I had the same problem on my old Case 580CK backhoe. Rather than tear the nose off to get to the pump, I ordered an adjustable length "linkable" V belt from Grainger Industrial supply. A little pricey, but well worth it to me in time savings. If your tractor is a show piece, than this may not be an option, because it will not look original. It worked well for me on my old Case work horse ! Here's a link to the Grainger page listing these belts. //http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/wwg/productIndex.shtml?from=Search&newSrch=yes&operator=keywordSearch&search_type=keyword&action=Go%21&QueryString=powertwist&submit.x=35&submit.y=10

The shaft that drives the hydraulic pump off the engine pulley has a fitting that seats into holes in the pulley.  Loosen the bolts that hold the pump and slide away from the engine.  That will provide the opening you need to replace the belt.
