Serial # Location on ADH

I have checked the right side of the firewall behind the engine and do not find a tag. Is this the proper location? Is there any other way to tell what year this machine is if the tag is missing?

There should be some kind of tag on the engine with the engine serial number on that. I think you said you found that tag. If not I think there might be a serial number stamped on the front corner of the block, I think the left side by the injectors. It sticks in my mind that there is a casting date on the bottom of the transmission case, but have never really looked myself.

Will the engine serial # tell me what year the crawler is?  Is there a chart to check engine serial #'s for year of manufacture?

It will tell you darn close, within 6 months I would guess. I don't know where a list is for the engine, but if you post it I know that someone on here has the list.
