I have a 1952 OC-3 thats is painted green. It has yellow underneath the green paint. The fedners are green as well. I am working o painting the good and sheet metal but I am not sure what color everything should be painted. I would like to try and keep it original. Does anyone have any kind of paint scheme or diagrahms I could use to get this thing painted as correctly as possible?

OC-3's in 1952 would have been painted all yellow . I'm sure there is a proper paint code yellow but I have always used [I'm Sorry Guys] early caterpillar yellow. Something from the 1940's not the modern color cat calls yellow. Green was on the HG's in the 40's but Oliver went to yellow after the war. Ed B.

I have a 1951 OC-3 that is painted green and I  know this is the original because it has been in the family since it was new, my understanding is that they were green until about the same time that the frame changed (mid 1952). So I would not assume that the color is yellow because 52 had both color's. Does your OC-3 have the older or the newer frame. Mine has the older short frame,(forgive me if I am explaining something you already know) the one that butts up to the final drive casting, the newer frame gets sandwiched between the final drive casting and the transmission. If you look in the "specifications and technical information" tab  on the cletrac home page it will give you the paint codes.

Early OC-3 tractors indeed were painted green. Now it was a darker green than what the wheel tractors were. It was more like what the wheel tractors were up to about 1944. I just had a wild though. Do you have a serial number for your tractor?

We had a provincial sales tax in place here, with an agricultural exemption.

The green ones were sold for agricultural use and tax exempt; the yellow ones were industrial and taxable.

Gentlemen,
Thnak you for all of the useful information. The green seems to be original since it has origignal decals painted on over the green paint. The serial number starts with 5W but i can not remeber the rest of it and my computers is no where near my tractor. If I remeber when I get out to the garage tonight I will take a look at the frame and write the serial number down. I know the HG' had red fender and a red seat. Did any of the OC-3's end up with the same red? I bought mine from a guy in the Cleveland area so I am pretty sure it is mostly original with an Anderson blade. The guy I got it from converted it to a 12V tractor so there have been some modifications to the electrical. Here it is tucked away in the garage shortly after i got it home.

I finally got a chance to get the serial number off of the machine. 4WH546. I believe that makes it a 1952.
