Hello all,

I am looking for a Hercules JXC or JXD. I understand they were in the Cletrac BG and BGS.  Thanks for any help you might offer,

Hello,
I have a JXD from a truck crane.  I bought it as an extra for my BGSH.  Had it running on the garage floor, sounded good.  I stole the carb, manifold, and distributor for my project.  I'm located in Manistique, MI(Upper peninsula)  Can send pics.  Need to get $500 for it. Regards, Jonn Mackie

anyone know if anything from a JXC-D can be interchanged with DJXC-D ?? like pistons?

Unfortunatly nothing that I know of will interchange between the two. Maybe starters, but definately not pistons. The DRXB has a much bigger bore. Pistons are hard to find for the DJXC, and even more scarce for the DRXB. If you had pistons for a DRXB and needed some for a DJXC maybe we could do some trading???

Good luck,
Bob
Any more diesel questions feel free to ask. If I don't have the answer I probably have a book that does!

joshua_d did you figure out how to time the engine? I know this is an old thread but I read the wrong advice befor pulling the fuel injection pump on my djxc and need to time it when the pump comes back from the repair shop. About all I have to do to get it running is mount the pump, mount the pony engine, put the starter drive together and mount the radiator.

Hi Mate ,Josh , Works away a lot , So you may have to wait a week or 2  until he is back home . Mean while some one else may be able to answer your Question .

I've posted on here somewhere about timing these herc. diesels

I found a couple of Hercules operator manuals on e bay that give detailed instructions for pump timing so I think I will be okay to do it. If I run into trouble I know where to get help now. The starter drive is together as of yesterday so I will get the radiator and pony engine out of the garage today and mount them up, then it will be waiting for the repair shop to finish the pump.

On timing those things we had a customer who had a BD and it was timed to Number 6 cylinder instead of Number one.

Yes that is the way the manual describes it, # 6 coming up on compression and the exaust on #1 closing when the flywheel marks are in line. This one will be timed at 24 degrees before TDC since it runs under 1500 RPM.

If you are still looking for a JXD engine I have a few that might work for your application. I also know of a Diamond T fire truck  with a JXLD engine down the street from me. Sitting for years but might be worth looking into.
