I'm thinking about taking a Cletrac probably a B, with a junk UC and putting wheels under it. I'm thinking of using the tandem set of axels off a grader. Probably remove the finals from the tractor, and run a chain and sprocket from the pinion to the input on the grader axels. Will have to go with a very small sprocket on the pinion and a decent size one on the axels. Figure if I do it right it should turn out to be a neat outfit.

Any ideas? This isn't something thats gonna happen soon.. Been thinking about this for several years now.

Well, if you are thinking of using tandem axles off say an old Cat 12 grader you better leave the finals on.  They have 1300 x 24" tires which are at least twice the dimeter of the B's sprockets.  So the tractor would go twices as fast.  That may make an impressive skid steer!!  May want to lock out 3rd and 4th gears!! would not want to run over yourself when you turn!!!  Could be a fun project!!

Was thinking also, If I would take the finals off, I'd have to flop the ring gear inside too, as the pinion in the finals turn backwards... I think it is possible. My dad flipped one in a B allis with success.

I will have to do figuring on sprocket sizes to see if it would be possible to have it go about the same speed, maybe a little faster wouldn't hurt with rubber tires... Put a new racecar style seat on it with a 5 point harness and who cares how fast it is! LOL

Have to do some measuring and fitting/ Figured with the finals on it would be pretty wide

Do it with an HG and put a V-8 engine in it. You'd have a heck of an ATV that could skid logs and do quite a bit of work.

Well at one time some one in the 50's thought of that as well. There are (were?) some pictures in the museum in Charles City where a model A or B had all 4 wheels the same size. It was in the file with Harris Power horse pictures.
