Can anybody help with info about any interchangable starter motors for my 1948 BD with  DJXC Engine. The starter needs a complete rebuild. Were any other starters interchangable, saw one on ebay for a herc. wxlc3, looks the same but is it? It would certainly be a lot cheaper. Thanks, Denis

If you have a local guy who rebuilds starters have him do some cross referencing. When I had my OC-12 starter rebuilt several years ago (because the shaft broke), I was told that it would be easier to get a Delco-Remy starter with a solenoid for it as that size and design were quite common. I, however, wanted to stick to original, so I had mine fixed.
