When I went to the UK either 7 or 9 years (I went twice) ago I stopped at a collector that had done this. It looked real good.

I too am looking for an alternate diesel engine for a BD. It would have to be similar low RPM, but a little more horsepower would be OK.
What are the specs on a 6354?

I think a B5.9 series Cummins 12 valve would be a good option. Torque peaks around 1400, but they can be run up to around 2900 if desired. And, with a little modification, you can get all the power you want. A 24 valve or common rail would work too, but you'd need the computer.

Another good choice is a John deere 6-329. I spoke with the owner of Bechtold Tractor service from Ca., a few years ago and he told me they re-powered a lot of OC-12's with the Deere engine and it was a good fit. They are not too hard to find as they were used in a lot of combines.

Even a 4BT would be a good fit. Maybe even some of those Deutz air cooled engines. They seem to be a decent engine

Scott:  Can you post a short write up on the materials and engine swap out when you get a moment.

Did you machine the adaptor plate yourself or did you secure from a metal fab. shop.

Keep up the good work!
