My book shows 75 ft-lb torque spec for the head bolts. Is this correct? Also, is there a particular torque sequence for them?

Wes (MI)

Forgot, it's for a 1940 AG 4 cylinder Hercules ooc.

I think I've always done 100lbs, but 75 very well could be also. Just start in the center and work outward on a circular pattern.

Okay, thanks Bob. I'll try running it at 75 first & if I have problems I can up the torque a little.

Go in stages. Start with about 1/4 the amount you want to end up with, work through the pattern, then up your torque wrench to maybe 1/2, then repeat. Make sure the threads are oiled. I would make sure what the torque figures are before you start. One of us should have a manual on it - I know there's one over at our show grounds if no one comes up with the "official" figure.
