OC-3 Fix for Seeping Oil in the Differential to Axle Housings gaskets?

I have all the oil leaks fixed except where the axle housing is bolted to the differential (Clark unit). The leaks are on both sides and aren't that bad, just enough to make the bottom of the Clark unit oily. I re-torqued the 6 bolts on each side which didn't help. Has anyone found a "band-aid" fix for a leak like that? I don't think it is worth pulling the axle housings and putting in new gaskets. There are several spray leak sealers like "Permatex 82099 Spray Sealant" but I'd like to hear from someone who has had this problem.

Thanks

Glen;

What timing.  My OC 3 does the same thing and my neighbor recommended a stop leak product that Lucas oil manufactures.

He had stated that he used it all the time in his tandem axle Mack dump truck and it worked great.  I am going to try it myself vs. tearing it apart.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mark. Would you please let me know what it is called exactly and how it works for you?

I would be cautious using any oil additives as the oil in the differential is a straigt mineral oil, non additive. Since the oil is on the brake bands, it might affect steering performamce.

Doug, I'm thinking of a spray on sealant that goes on the outside where the leak is like "Permatex 82099 Spray Sealant". There are others. I'm wondering if folks have had good luck with any of them where my leaks are.

The suggestion for the Lucas product, I believe was an additive to the oil. That's what i was concerned about.

Obviously, no harm in something you would put on the outside, but I doubt it will work.
