Hello All,
I found this E-38 on the local Craigslist and couldn't pass it up. The tractor is amazingly complete and the previous owner made sure i got all the loose parts.
So far I have managed to get the motor ( Hercules OOC ) unstuck by soaking with transmission fluid and then hammering the pistons down with a block of wood. It's going to be a long road back for this one.

Looks like a great project Jon! I tried looking up your serial number, but can't really find it. I'm guessing it's a 1936 because that is the last year for unstyled E's, and yours is a high serial number.

Hi Blake,
The Gentleman that sold it to me said it was a 1934 and that the first E-38 to roll off the assembly line that year was number 30. So that would make mine the 11th off the line, assuming that information was correct. I also found this post from a few years ago that sort of backs up what the previous owner told me. http://cletrac.org/forum2010/index.php?topic=1448.0
Whatever year it might be, it's such an interesting machine and I'm looking forward to learning all about it.
Here is a pic of the engine data tag.
Thanks for the reply,

Hey Bill,
Yeah it was the one in Hampton, I didn't see it on E bay, I found it on the Western Mass Craigslist. The only things it's missing is the cap on the air intake pipe (rotted away) and the Intake/exhaust manifold (also rotted away). It also has a lot of pitting on everything from sitting out side.
Thanks for checking in,
Jon
