In the fall of 1960 after White motor purchased Oliver and seperated the Cleveland plant as in crawlers the Cletrac Corporation was formed. Who was in charge of it and how long did it survive and did they build any tractors?

I don't know John, if they ever built tractors or if it was just on paper. I do know my uncle Howard said he saw a tractor at the plant that was brand new and said Cletrac on the radiator. This would have been about 1960 or 61. I don't know if it was a real tractor or a mock-up. I'll have to ask him more about it.

I know when the plant was closed in 1961, Amorado-Hess (the oil company) bought the pensions. Later when my Gramps retired, his pension came from them.

I would like to find out more about the Cletrac Corporation.
My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation. After the plant closed, he and my uncle started an excavating business, initially using Cletrac and Oliver Crawler tractors.
