on with the restoration

after posting my E on ebay, too many people wanted just parts, and i couldnt bring myself to part it out... might be in sad shape.. but atleast its 99% there.  one of the emails i got was from my dad, who saw it on ebay... told me that i should restore it.... even offered to fund the project (that way he gets to play with it when he visits).

upon  removing and dissassembling the engine... i have been pleasently suprized.  the reason for being "froze" had nothing to do with rings... cylinders are in exceptional shape... still see some cross-hatching.  the "oil" left in the mains from the last time it was running had turned to "tar-like".. and baisically glued the crank in place.  all bearings look good, all parts look great, just needs a healthy dose of cleaning... and it will be time for reassembly.

this brings me to my next question.... what kind of tolerances should i be shooting for, what are the torque specs, and where do find a new set of rings?  the rings look good, but i have never re used rings in any kind of engine before.  

anybody got any suggestions on the ring situation?

also... the clutch disks have a lot of meat on them, but i am wondering if i should replace them while its apart.  does anybody have these, or do i have to send them off to be redone?

Rings should be the easiest part to get. If NAPA or some other auto parts does not have them, Niagara Piston Ring in Corry, PA should be able to make whatever you need. They made me two rings for my Rumely steam engine years ago and they were 10" x 3/4" thick.

Someone on here should have all the specs and clearances for the OOC engine handy.
