HAs anyone done much with rubber track pads? I am considering putting them on my OC-3 and I am wondering how it will change the operation of the machine. Any advise or comments appreciated.

I have an OC-3 that was converted from 6 to 12 volt. The hardest parts was making the bracket for the alternator. When I first got the machine the magnetto had never worked right and it was rigged with a coil. I later took a distributor off of a Farmall H and hooked it up with the 12 volt system. The machine runs great and starts great. The starter has been rebuilt but the 12volts do not seem to bother it and the engine fires right up since it has been rebuilt and tuned in nicely. You can see it in the picture before we put everything back together. We did however end up moving the coil since the wires were not fitting very well right there.

My OC3 has an Anderson blade and there is a notch in the frame. I am not sure if this is what you are refering to or not. If it is not has anyone seen this notch before? It also has a universal trencher auxiliary transmision.

I am putting my OC3 back together and I have relaized that the brake lever adjusting rods and return springs are not accurate. Does anyone have any pictures of how this should be setup?

On my 1952 OC3 I have a Universal Trencher Auxiliary transmission. I am not sure the exact reduction. It bolts up right behind the bellhousing. The shaft goes from the pilot bearing all into the aux housing. I have not beenable to find a model or casting number on the unit. he installation looks almost factory but there are parts on the aux transmission that have been modified. Has anyone seen one of these setups before? There is also a Anderson Blasde on the machine.

I saw a picture of an OC3 with a small box attached under the seat. On my OC3 there is abracket welded to the bottom of the seat. Did the OC3's come wit a tool box or some other attachement that went under the seat?

Thanks for the feed back. One of the guys at my work used to work on cat crawlers and we are making a fixture and pins to press everything out. When we get it all together I will post some pictures and let everyone know how it goes.

I would like to turn the pins on the tracks of my OC3. Has anyone had any experience prssing the pins in and out? I run a steel shop and have access to a variety of small hydraulic power presses. I am considering making a fixture to press the pins in and out. Any thoughts or words of wisdom?

Thank you for the help. The engines are a 140 GK and a 145 CKB. They are pretty much in tact but I do not think that they hav run for a few years.

I have a 12V coil with built in resistance.

We are scrapping an old ucyrus crane a work. It as two Waukesha engines in it. The one in the back end is a 140 bk. We are getting the other one later in the week and I will get the model off of it then. Does anyone now if they have any value to people as far as spareparts or castings go?

Here is a pincture of the setup that I am using with the distributor. The coil is a bit long with the wires hooked up and interferes with the carburator and timing cover so i had to turn it around. I am confident that it will work well. I am hoping ot have the engine buttoned up by the weekend and give it a test run. the engine is in various stages of prep and paint. The previous owner converted it to 12 volt and I am going to keep it that way for now.
