My brother just bought an oc4 at a local auction. It was running great the day of the auction. He went to pick it up the next day and it wouldn't pop or anything. Got it loaded and home, put new plugs and wires on it and still won't start. Has thick blue spark at plugs and exhaust smells like gas but plugs are dry when you pull them. Any ideas? Any help would b greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a 51 bgsh that i need an oil filter for does anyone know the part number for it? i took it to napa and they couldn't help me. it has the original canister filter. any help would be appreciated. thanks

hello everyone its been a while need help again.  my 51 bgsh with a jxd needs a new exh/int manifold mine is toast.  i tried zimmermans and havent heard back yet and i just sent an email to crawler heaven.  if they dont have it does anyone have any other places to look.  any help would be appreciated. thanks

thanks for the info with the governor i adjusted it like you said and the throttle holds fine now.  as far as  the bladce goes i wish i had known you had and extra.  i have the lift and all that just not the blade and blade frame.  i'm going to keep building the frame i started for now, but maybe when i get my taxes back i'll drop you a line as i just dont have the money right now and i would like the original blade setup for it.  if you could get me the measurement for that link that would be great.  thanks alot for all your help.

i also wanted to ask you in the picture you have with your info is a somewhat similar machine, do you still have it?  i'm building the blade system for mine and was wondering if you could measure the bar that goes from your lift arm down to your blade frame.  i don't know of anyone else in my area that has one i can measure so i get the proper lift.  thanks

thanks for the info i will try to set that after work tomorrow and i will let you know how it all pans out.  as far as the spring goes you were talking about it is a real heavy duty(i can barely even flex it) and it has a rod inside of it( i think to prevent the over rev).  it looks original to the machine and the paint on it matches the rest of the machine.  one thing i forgot on the carb where the governor linkage hooks on the opposite side of the same piece someone has rigged a spring in there but it isn't very strong, should it be there? should it be stronger?  i don't know alot about this thing, i saved it from the scrap pile and thought i could get it going as it was complete except for the blade.  the engine just needed some gas and the points cleaned and i'm in the middle of building a blade for it, then throttle problem came up.  you wouldn't happen to have a rough idea of the hp of it would you?  thanks again for your help

hello everyone.

Need help again.  for some reason recently the engine won't maintain rpm's.  i can rev it up but it idles almost all the way back down to an idle.  i did notice that the governor is pushing back down there.  the governor does work and try to maintain rpm when under load but the rpm's are to low and it stalls.  does this mean the governor setting is out of adjustment?  anyone know the procedure for checking/adjusting the governor?  also was wondering the max rpms for the engine.  thanks in advance for any help.

in addition to what blake said if you can get help open the lines and close them while turning the engine over so as to keep as much air out as possible.  it is possible your shut off is stuck.  if there is a knob up by seat follow the cable to the injection pump and have someone move the knob in and out and see if it moves all the way in both directions.  does the engine smoke while cranking?  how did it officially die?  did it shut down on you or did you shut it down and it wouldn't start the next time?  there a possibilty the pump is bad and those are about $1000-$1500 to have rebuilt.  another thing to verify whch is a last resort is give a SMALL shot of either and see if it fires. keep us posted on what you find and i'll try to help as best i can.

i tried to pin in on one end and welded a washer on the other but the pin snapped almost instantly as i just turned the dozer around and when i got down it was gone.  i think i'll just weld another washer on the outer side, but if i can find a master pin kit i would like to keep it as a spare.  another thing i noticed is the holes are slightly larger on the chain on the outside but fits tight on the inner one, am i missing some bushings or are my pin holes worn??  there is about an 1/8th inch gap all the way around.  any thoughts?  thanks in advance

Anybody know if master pin kits for the track chains are still available? mine don't stay in very well and i would like to replace them. any advice appreciated.  also a friend said to measure the whole and get a bolt to fit, would that work? i wouldn't think a bolt would be strong enough.  machine is a '51 bgsh. thanks in advance.

a friend of mine went to a local industrial tire store that he dealt with and got some thick rubber from some old loader tires and old track pieces from mini escavators.  cut them the size he wanted, drilled holes in the rubber and mounted using two carriage bolts(cut the excess bolt off after they were tightened.  when you put them on it affects your  traction some.  we took them back off later because we were pulling logs and needed all the traction we could get! good luck
