If it an HG or OC-3 taking the head off will not show much just the cylinders with the IX engines your not going to drop a valve or anything and make it lock up. You would be better off pulling the front end off and the bottom end although it would not hurt to take the head off. Depending on what you are doing with this and how much you want to put into it might be a good time for a rebuild.

With it turning a quarter turn before it got stuck I would be careful you might have a mechanical issue with out knowing what engine it is hard to say what that might be. Have you pulled the plugs and oiled the cylinders? might just need a little penetrating oil to help get it moving since it had already turned a little. The other two methods I use besides the turning the crank is taking off the starter and turning the flywheel but have not done that on a stuck engine try not to break anything. Second method is turning the drive-shaft or pto all of these can cause damage if you not careful so good luck.

I believe the measurement is 4" check the pics out. I also took a pic of the pressure plate since mine is a 1939 it should be the early style. If this is not the dimension you need just let me know.

Subjects Related To All Models / Cletrac logo
January 06, 2011, 09:50:55 PM
Does anyone have a vector or dxf file of the Cletrac crawler tractors logo like the black one with the oval around it on the main page of Cletrac.org. I would like one that could be blown up to around thirty inches tall so I can make a sign for my garage. Thanks

Very nice work, I see you have about as many projects as I do. It is amassing that our wife's stay with us with all the time and money spent on our toys.

Dave when I did my aux trans a year ago I had a few problems as well but worked them out and now really like how my machine runs. One of the problems that I had and have not figured out why was that the release bearing was pushing on the fingers and my clutch was being engaged I put an extra spacer in between the model A trans and bellhousing. It is a quarter inch thick and so something was off somewhere but works fine now but it seems like you are a lot further off than just a quarter inch. Can you post some pictures or a link to some that is showing the set up you have.  I just took my trans out to finally paint everything after a year of putting it in which means I am actually finishing this faster than most projects. I can take some pics of my set up to compare it to yours if you like just let me know what you want a pic of.
Two other thing my clutch from Snyder?s that I bought a year ago is about .36" thick and is not that much thicker than the original is yours thicker than that? Make sure the flywheel side is NOT against the flywheel I made that mistake one time putting it together.
You also mentioned the throwout carrier there is a pic in the technical section that shows it check to see if your sizes are correct.

I have the same loader and control valve on my HG and mine does not have float, on the machines that have a float position that I have used they had a has a detent to hold in position, so if it is returning to center I would say something is wrong with your valve. Is this the first time you have used the loader on your machine? If not was it working correctly before? I am not a expert in hydraulics but there are some on here that are and I'm sure they will chime in soon good luck.

Congratulations on your new machine. Look for some raised numbers close to the magneto on the side of the engine with those numbers and letters you will be able to find out what year you engine is and what it is. Post the numbers here and someone will be able to tell you what it is. Good luck on your new purchase. Everyone likes pic posted of new toys.

HG, OC-3, OC-4 & General / Re: Shipping Weight of a HG

Monties
The rough weight of a HG is about 3300lbs later mode OC3 weighed about 4000lbs. If it is a HG the IXA engine is a lot lighter than a six cylinder Chevy. As far as value goes it all depends on running condition witch is unknown. Since it is not running and not knowing how professional the install was on the six banger. I would say between $300 to $800. But like most things it is only worth what someone else is willing to pay.

The wix number is correct it should be a 51105. The napa part number is 1105 but wix makes there filters. Your water pipe should be real close to the block has it been bent out some how? Is the water pipe a metal tube about one inch in diameter? Things get changed over the years with different owners. You could call Zimmerman's Oliver Cletrac 717-738-2573 they might be able to help.

HG, OC-3, OC-4 & General / Ware 3-HI cylinders
June 15, 2009, 03:04:33 PM
Does anyone have a diagram of the hydraulic cylinders on a Ware 3-HI loader? Also the local hydraulic shop has not been to helpful, in there books they don't have anything on ware loaders. So if they don't have a part number they just can't help me is what they said. So if you know a good place to get rebuild kits would be helpful. Thanks

I have the opportunity to purchase a auxiliary transmissions set up for a IXB motor I have a IXA motor and was wondering if the bellhousing is the same on the IXB and the IXA? Long story short will it work?
Thanks
