Cletrac sprockets are cast steel, they can be welded with any steel rod!  6011, 6013 7018 etc.

I live in Otorohanga, NewZealand. And am a member of the Otorohanga Vintage Machinery Club. This year I purchased two ADH's , one is an Oliver and one is a Cletrac but both look the same. These were not going and had been parked up for 10 and 30 years respectively. They were shed stored. Had originally been used for discing steep hill country. Track gear is pretty flogged out but should be okay for occasional outings.
The Oliver needed a new water pump, I made fuel filters for them. Have renewed the seat pan. The Cletrac needed a solenoid, battery cables but more importantly had a seized injector pump. Fortunately there was one in the spare parts that came with them and once that was changed and timed it is now going too.

Has anyone had experience in welding the cracked spokes of the drive sprocket. My Cletrac ADH has cracks in two spokes. Cold cast iron weld in situ? Or will it have to come off?

Finished the tool box and battery holder, will not quite, dropped the cover on the floor and now get to repaint plus don't like how the tag on the battery turned out so will take it off again and see if I can do a better job on it.  Just about done with the carb, has a Tillotson model Y-8D carb.

Just now saw this post and new to the site. Also new to owning a 1945 Cletrac. Been working on it for the last couple months in my spare time. I don't know much of anything about Cletrac's but have several old tractors and 2 other crawlers, a 1935 Two Twenty Cat and a 1955 TerraTrac fully restored. I found out from Zimmerman what year it was and then discovered it was originally painted an orange color but someone had painted it green and put newer HG decals on it. Don't understand that. I will try and post some pictures of things as soon as I figure out how.

Could the bulb hole be filled with sediment and blocked, preventing coolant from reaching the bulb?

Ran into that recently on an inoperative pressure gauge on a water system.

I found a thermo. At the parts store (chevy small bock) that fit. I tested it in hot water and installed it .Still no joy . Remote therm reads only 100 F  where the temp sensor mounts on the head. That after 1/2 hour running . Anyone ?

Thanks for the reply jack. I rechecked the gauge ,it is definitly working and today it moved off peg a little after an hour of plowing snow . Guess I will replace thermostat.

  Do you know a source ?

Hello, fellow NB'er!

Reading your post, my first reaction was that the new gauge got busted when installed. I've twisted that fine tube off on occasion.

I'd pull it and recheck.

I noticed that according to the tempgauge the engine was not getting warm .no movement on gauge. This was new .In the past it showed working temp on gauge. I got a new gauge as a remote read themo showed at least 180 on block. I confirmed the new gauge was working by putting it in pot of water on stove . At 200 according to therrmo the gauge was in run zone . But after install new gauge wont come up either . I took out thermostat and confirmed it is closed cold and open around 180.
    So I am stumped . Can anyone tell me what the head should read with remote temp gauge . What happens if engine runs cold to much? Why would it run cold ,if it is.
