I have just picked up a 1937 bd. I would like to start to restore it but need some technical info about the machine. I am looking for a workshop manual/operators manual. Some bookshops sell one for a BD as Oliver /cletrac after the takeover. Are these the same machines as mine? Does anyone have access to a cd with the manual on it?
Thanks, Denis

Those old crawlers were sold in some very remote locations. So the operators manuals included much more information than a common operators manual. Either the museum in Charles City or Landis would be where I would check for a manual. Also get a parts book while you are ordering manuals. More questions? I will post the number for Charles City tonight.

Thanks John, I live in Australia, (I guess that's pretty remote) so Charles city or Landis means nothing to me. Could you please give a bit more info about these locations.

Hi Dbooth , I am in OZ to . Landis He refered to would be Zimmerman .They wreck and repair cletracs/olivers ,. Mate of mine  has a collection of olivers , He has most of the manuals collected now  ,Most of his came off Ebay  so set up a search and one will come to the surface .. .Do a google search as there are places in the states with reprinted manuals  Although i got a cat d4 manual from  jensales  and was not very happy with the picture quality  . The manuals for the Oliver Cletrac (after Oliver takeover) would be the same for just Cletrac. If anything was different it would be very very minor.

I'm not happy with any of the reprints I have gotten anywhere. The typing is fine, but pics are very poor.

I find E-Bay to be a good place to find original manuals.  Some time you have to waite a while but they usually show up.

I second that Robert! I bought 99% of my originals off eBay, for very reasonable.
