Were any Cletracs of the 30's painted red ?  I have a 1936 40D that is all rust topside but has red paint underneath and on the inside of the track frame, rollers, sprockets, etc.  Thanks TEDV:)

They were a brown from 1930-35. See this paint color link.

I know they were all painted with red lead primer. Maybe that's what you see. My gramps started out at the company laying on his back with a brush painting red lead underneith them.

My gramps Howard van Driest was Experimental Engineer at Cletrac and Oliver Corporation.
